After nine years of being away from the public eye, J. Holiday, who was known for the song "Bed," made the internet buzz after he lashed out against singers Beyonce, Cardi B and SZA in an Instagram post.
In a video, J. Holiday expressed his disappointment over the 2018 Grammy nomination, which, according to him, lacked black men. Before starting his long tirade, J. Holiday made a disclaimer that he was not there to disrespect anybody. However, his initial statement was followed by a vindictive rant against female artists in the Grammy list.
He dropped major bombs on "Lemonade" singer Beyonce, "Finesse" singer Cardi B, and "Love Galore" singer SZA. J. Holiday denounced them for using their experiences, which he described as "pain," in creating their songs. "I got daughters, man. Cardi B, Beyonce, SZA - all y'all motherf*ckers - stop using that f*cking pain to make it okay to say some bullsh*t on your record and get nominated for a Grammy for going through some bullsh*t," he said.
He also took a swing at these women for allegedly being the reason black men lose. He added that he does not let his daughters listen to their songs. His post included hashtags like #dontsupportjunkiemusic and #theweekendchick.
It can be noted that J. Holiday lost to Mary J Blige for best contemporary R&B album in the Grammys in 2009. However, the singer was quick to comment on the issue.
"#asablackmutherfuckingman Yes salty I lost to MJB I'm over it! #painwins not talent!" he said.

Fans of the artists he singled out took to social media to defend their idols. "ay that Black women speaking on our experiences does not mean that Black men can't speak on their's. In fact, Jay Z did it... and he was nominated for 7 Grammys," user @arielle_newton tweeted.
One Twitter user wrote that J. Holiday committed a mistake by attacking Beyonce. Another comment on his Instagram post cautioned him against putting someone down because of his frustration over what happened to him in the past.
Holiday may have been critical of the music produced by black female singers, but he did not comment on the Grammy-nominated songs produced by black male artists. This year's Grammy nominees include Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar, with eight and seven nominations, respectively.
Lamar's and West's songs were also inspired by their personal experience, but Holiday had nothing to say about this significant detail in his rant.
