Lily Allen just confirmed that her newest album No Shame will be released this summer. The singer also dropped the music video for her song "Trigger Bang."
Trigger Bang Video Dropped
The track was not supposed to be released until this year, but Allen decided to share it with her fans after parts of it leaked in December. Allen confirmed the news on her social media account. The 32-year-old singer's good friend, Giggs, is also featured in the song.
Following the release of "Trigger Bang," Allen expressed her gratitude to Giggs for helping her find her artistic voice again. The two first met at the V Festival in 2014.
"He laid into me slightly... It is this no nonsense, straight to the point approach and attitude that makes Giggs so special and unique. A rapper, a stranger, an actual artist that I liked, bowls into my dressing room to tell me exactly what he thought and I could tell straightaway that it was coming from a place of kindness. Everything he does or says has to have purpose or meaning," said Allen.
"Trigger Bang" is included in Allen's album No Shame, which is the singer's first record in four years. In 2014, Allen released her LP Sheezus.
Allen will also be going on a tour in the United Kingdom, but her performances are limited to only three locations. On March 20, she will be performing at Gorilla in Manchester. Her two other performances will take place at the Tufnell Park Dome in London on March 21 and at King Tuts in Glasgow on March 23.
Lily Allen Faces Controversies
Beyond her successful music career, Allen has also been involved in a slew of controversies. Following her return to the industry last year, Allen revealed that James Corden "came on to her" during an interview.
After Corden's appearance in Lily and Friends, Allen was accused of flirting with the funny man. She later explained why she did not shut Corden down during the show. She said that she did not stop Corden from flirting with her on television because doing so would have labeled her as "snobbish" or "cold."
Allen also opened up about her stalker during another interview. The singer said that Alex Gray also claimed to have written one her songs.
"He would drop off these letters and at my record company, my management offices, my sister's shop, my flat. It was freaking me out a bit and I'm not easily scared, so the fact that I went to the police with the letters shows how serious I felt it was," said Allen.
