What Is Primavera Sound Festival?

The first edition of the Primavera Sound festival took place in 2001 in Poble Espanyol. In 2005, the event transferred to a bigger site in Parc del Fòrum. During its first run, approximately 8,000 people attended the music festival. Last year, the number of attendees rose to 200,000.

Majority of the attendees were from outside of Spain, and some guests even flew from other parts of the world just to attend the festival.

Venue Issues

There is a major concern regarding the festival's venue this year. Organizers have called for the immediate renovation of Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona since the venue is no longer conducive to huge crowds.

Alberto Guijarro, the director of Primavera Sound, said that the venue needs to adapt to the guest's needs.

"There are rocks and pits on the main stage esplanade," said Alberto Guijarro, the director of Primavera Sound.

As of late, no renovation has taken place.
