The Internet can be a very rewarding place.
Bobby Shmurda first created a buzz for himself back in March when his visual for the track "Hot N***a" hit YouTube.
Then came the Vine craze. Everyone began uploading their own renditions of the Shmoney Dance. Even Beyonce and Jay Z gave the young Brooklyn emcee a shoutout.
But this is only the beginning. Bobby Shmurda recently announced that he is officially a part of the Epic Records family.
Epic Records executive Sha Money XL broke the news on his social media accounts saying, "Deal is done @bobby_shmurda #EPIC no one does the underdogs better then me. Brooklyn this 1 is for you."
The label exec even shared a video of the excited teen dancing on the conference room table.
Aside from Hov and Bey, Shmurda has been getting cosigned left and right.
As previously reported, Raekwon recently performed at the 10th anniversary of the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival alongside Jay Electronica, CJ Fly of Pro Era and Cyhi the Prince.
During his set, he was joined on stage by Shmurda as well as Troy Ave and Papoose.
Prior to his arrest, Meek Mill brought Shmurda out for a performance at Miami's King of Diamonds.
Atlanta tastemaker DJ Drama also lent his two cents on the 20-year-old rapper saying, "I like what he's doing. I like his personality and his name, Shmurda."
Like many, Drama drew a comparison to Chicago's drill scene.
"He reminds me of Chicago-ness," Drama said. It's kinda wild watching New York artists who have aspects of other rappers from other places. It just shows you how the game comes full circle."
