Young Thug just announced his new name. The Atlanta rapper said that, from now on, he would be called "SEX."
This is not the first time that Young Thug changed his name. In 2016, he also asked his fans to call him Jeffery. He, later on, said that he would just use Jeffery as the title of his mixtape. Fans are now convinced that Thug will be releasing another mixtape called SEX.
Also in 2016, the rapper explained why he likes changing his name.
"I had a long-term relationship with Young Thug and I'm kind of picky. So I felt like I ain't wanna be in front of Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey. I ain't want my kids to grow up and call me Thug. I don't want anybody to kind of look at me like that. So I'm gonna just use my real name," said the rapper.
After the interview, the "All da Smoke" rapper was still stuck with his stage name.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs Changes His Name To Love
Sean "Diddy" Combs also said that he wants to be called Brother Love, but the "I'll Be Missing You" singer later told his fans that he was just joking about the name change.
During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he clarified that he did not necessarily go back to being called Diddy. Rather, he just decided to drop Brother, and stick with Love.
"The Brother seemed redundant. And it's working out great. Who doesn't love Love? You can call me by the other names. It's just an evolution of my soul and my vibration. I'm Diddy, but during the days that are really, really good, I'm Love - which is all of the time," explained Combs.
Snoop Dogg's Name Change
Snoop Dogg also changed his name to Snoop Lion several years ago. In 2013, Dogg explained why he decided to change his name.
"I wanted to make songs about the life I'm living now as a father and as a 41-year-old man, as opposed to always talking about my childhood and my upbringing... I don't think it could have worked through rap because of my branding. I branded Snoop Dogg to be what he is, and it's too late to change the brand," said Dogg.
As yet, the "Young, Wild & Free" rapper still goes by his original stage name.
