Kacey Musgraves recently performed her new single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "Space Cowboy" is included in the singer's forthcoming album Golden Hour.
In the almost four-minute clip, talk show host Jimmy Fallon introduces Musgraves while showing off the cover art for Golden Hour. The 29-year-old singer sings the words to her newest song with so much emotion. Her eyes are closed during most of her performance.
Golden Hour will be released on March 30 via MCA Nashville. The album will serve as a follow-up to Musgrave's 2015 compilation Pageant Material. The Golden Hour includes other songs such as "Slow Burn," "Lonely Weekend," "Butterflies," "Oh, What a World," "Mother," "Love Is A Wild Thing," "Happy & Sad," "Velvet Elvis," "Wonder Woman," "High Horse," "Golden Hour," and "Rainbow."
Kacey Musgraves Talks About 'Golden Hour'
Earlier this year, Musgraves opened up about her album and said that she followed her heart while recording the songs for Golden Hour.
"I was thinking about how there are different masks that we wear that represent different sides of us. None of the masks are solely us, but they're all us. On this record, there's the lonely girl, the blissful girl, the new wife, the girl that's missing her mom, the angry girl, the sarcastic girl, the '60s sequined Cruella de Vil with the beehive, the shy girl, the life of the party, the winner, the loser - they're all characters on this record," explained Musgraves.
The singer's recent wedding to Ruston Kelly also inspired her to write more love songs for Golden Hour. She said that everything about love made sense to her while writing her songs because of her husband.
"I found myself inspired to write about this person and all these things he brought out in me that weren't there before," said Musgraves.
Musgraves and Kelly tied the knot in October 2017. Following their nuptials, the "Biscuits" singer took her thoughts to Instagram and said that she married her best friend at an outdoor wedding. They also exchanged vows under the trees.
Upcoming Tour
Other than the recent release of "Space Cowboy," Musgraves is also busy preparing for her upcoming tour with Little Big Town. The "Follow Your Arrow" singer will perform at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania on March 2. The tour will wrap up on June 21 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Musgraves will also headline for Harry Styles this summer.
