Cardi B Wants To Know Where Her Tax Dollars Go

Rapper and mom-to-be Cardi B is demanding transparency from the U.S. government.

Checks And Balances

On Thursday, March 23, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper had an expletive-filled rant on her official social media page.

"What you're doing with my f****** tax money," she asked on Instagram.

The short video, shot in black and white, sees Cardi B on a makeup chair, wanting to know where the government is using her hard-earned cash.

"The government is taking 40 percent of my taxes, and Uncle Sam, I want to know what you're doing with my f****** tax money," she said. "Because ... you know when you donate to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates [on] what they're doing with your donation? I want to know what you're doing with my f****** tax money."

She continued saying that she does not see actual improvements in the lives of regular Americans. She pointed out that her hometown of New York is still always dirty and there's still rats on the darn trains.

She also said that she is sure that her taxes do not go to prisons because inmates still get the bare minimum of their daily basic necessities.

"What is ya doing with my f******* money? I want to know, I want receipts, I want everything," she concluded her rant. "I want to know what ya n**** doing with my f****** money. What is ya doing with my f****** money? Uncle Sam I want you to know what the f*** you're doing with my motherf****** money!"

When the video gained traction and has been picked up by local news, she continued her speech saying that, while a lot of people has responded, no one is yet to show her any proof that her taxes were being used to improve the country. The Bronx native reiterated that her neighborhood still looks like "s***."

She also referenced President Donald Trump's plan to put up a border wall separating the United States and Mexico.

Most of the responses to Cardi B's recent Instagram posts have been positive and supportive.

On The Rise

The 25-year-old rapper's career has been on a crazy upward trajectory since last year. She was featured in the remixed version of Bruno Mars song "Finesse," from his Grammy-winning album 24K Magic.

The track peaked at the number 3 spot of Billboard's Hot 100. Her own song, "Bodak Yellow," was also a tremendous hit, marking her first time ever to top the songs chart.

Later this year, the "Bartier Cardi" rapper will be releasing her first studio album. She announced at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards earlier this month that the anticipated record will be out by April.
