Christina Aguilera Showcases Raw Beauty On Barefaced Paper Magazine Cover

She is truly beautiful in every single way. Christina Aguilera foregoes makeup for Paper Magazine, her first magazine cover in years.

The 37-year-old singer is almost unrecognizable without her signature red lip and sharp winged eyeliner. Instead, she opted to let her skin breathe and show off her adorable natural freckles on the "Transformation" issue of the publication.

Aguilera also wore a single accessory — a gold chunky ring that says "mom" on it. The "Genie in a Bottle" singer is now a mother of two children, 10-year-old Max, and 3-year-old Summer Rain.

The New Christina

Aguilera has been in the music industry for quite some time and, over the years, fans have seen her reinvent herself. From the sexy "Dirrty" era, the singer, in the recent years, has been the epitome of old-Hollywood glam, rocking large curls and a dramatic makeup.

"I've always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a storyline and play a character in a video or through stage," she told Paper Magazine. "I'm a performer, that's who I am by nature. But I'm at the place, even musically, where it's a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty."

Last November, however, she debuted her new look. Instead of the bold lip and eyeliner, Aguilera walked the red carpet of the 2017 American Music Award, where she presented a tribute for Whitney Houston, a nude lip, slick-back hair, a deep V-neckline.

On 'The Voice'

In the same interview, she also briefly talked about The Voice, the popular singing competition in which she served as a judge, alongside Maroon 5's Adam Levine and country singer Blake Shelton, for six successful years. She left the show in 2015 and, since then, has been replaced by a flurry of other pop stars including Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, and, most recently, Kelly Clarkson.

"I can't stay in a stagnant place for too long, which is why I think the position I was in with television just became very stifling," she explained. "I need movement, I need to go explore, be an artist, create and transform."

After leaving The Voice, Aguilera went back to making movies, voicing the character of Akiko Glitter in 2017's The Emoji Movie. In the previous years, she also contributed to the soundtrack of Netflix's The Get Down and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. She appeared on the remix of Lady Gaga's "Do What U Want," and sang a duet with A Great Big World for the song "Say Something."

She also appeared as a guest judge on the 10th season of RuPaul's Drag Race this year.

New Album

Her transformation might have something to do with her upcoming album. Aguilera is currently working on the follow-up to her 2012 record Lotus, which was released way back in 2012. The untitled LP will be her first album in over five years.

In January, she assured a fan that her new music is coming soon. As of this writing, however, details are scarce about the upcoming album and the release date, as well as the title, have yet to be revealed.
