Lorde recently paid tribute to Kanye West during her show in Chicago. She performed West's song "Love Lockdown" on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old singer is currently on her Melodrama tour in support of the Melodrama album she released on June 16, 2017. After singing "Love Lockdown" a capella, Lorde also interpolated the lyrics to "Runaway" with her song "Liability."
After her performance, Lorde thanked her fans from Chicago and said that it must be nice to come from the same place where West is from.
Lorde Calls Kanye West Her Idol
In the past, the New Zealand native called West her idol. The two also collaborated on the song "Yellow Flicker Beat." West remixed the track, which is featured in Lorde's Melodrama compilation.
"I'm the worst person ever at talking to people I don't know on the phone - I can't even order pizza. I would put off calling him. I'd say it's 12:57, I'll do it a 1," said Lorde.
After West agreed to remix "Yellow Flicker Beat," Lorde managed to hang out with the rapper in his studio in Malibu.
Other artists featured in Melodrama are Grace Jones, Chemical Brothers, Miguel, and Charli XCX.
