Babymetal Releases Mysterious New Trailer Teasing ‘Metal Resistance’

Babymetal drops a mysterious new trailer announcing the arrival of Metal Resistance. The clip also claims that a new era will begin soon.

The video, which is over two minutes long, opens with information on how Babymetal transcends time, space, body, and mind. The trio also called themselves legends or the chosen ones.

No other information has been released about Metal Resistance, and it is still unclear if this refers to the title of Babymetal's upcoming album. In 2016, the Japanese pop-metal group already released a compilation called Metal Resistance. It is also possible that Metal Resistance is the title of a new song.

In February, Babymetal made headlines after it announced its upcoming tours in the United States and the United Kingdom.

On May 8, the trio will head to Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri. This show will be followed by their performances at the ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas on May 10, House of Blues Dallas in Dallas, Texas on May 11, Revention Music Center in Houston, Texas on May 13, Tabernacle Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia on May 15, and more.

In June, Suzuka Nakamoto, Yui Mizuno, and Moa Kikuchi will head to the Rock am Ring in Nürburg, Germany on June 1. Their shows in the U.K. will wrap up on June 9 at the Download UK in Derby, United Kingdom.

Mikio Fujioka's Death

Earlier this year, Babymetal was involved in a major controversy after one of their members, Mikio Fujioka, died at the age of 36. The guitarist for the Japanese pop-metal band died after suffering severe injuries following a bad fall.

Following his accident on Dec. 30, 2017, Fujioka's wife said that his condition deteriorated quickly. On Jan. 5, he was pronounced dead. The guitarist is survived by his wife and two daughters.

What Is It Like To Be Part Of Babymetal?

In related news, Kikuchi previously shared what it is like to be part of Babymetal.

"Being involved with Babymetal has allowed me to acquire more chances to really become involved with music. As a result, I find myself noticing each individual instrument the band plays and I feel that I have found a new way of enjoying music on a deeper level," said Kikuchi.
