Today Pitbull released a new song "Fireball," which you can listen to below. "Fireball" is the Miami rapper's first single from his upcoming album Globalization and features vocals from singer-songwriter John Ryan, who contributes the song's soulful hook.
As can be expected from a Pitbull single, "Fireball" is propelled by a bouncy Latin-influenced beat, with the lyrics laid on top of the bright strumming of some sort of acoustic stringed instrument (it's not a guitar, but it doesn't quite sound like a ukulele either).
Though Pitbull's not exactly known for his lyrics, I did find the vaguely filthy opening line of the first verse to be particularly memorable ("I saw, I came, I conquered/Or should I say, I saw, I conquered, I came). Pitbull's rhymes have a flow that complements the beat rather well, but the part of the song most people will probably remember will be the horn melody that follows each chorus, which is quite reminiscent of the Champs' "Tequila."
Unknown guest vocalist John Ryan brings the track down (in a good way) for the catchy chorus, bringing a relatively calm and collected attitude to the otherwise explosive track.
Here are the lyrics to John Ryan's chorus hook:
"I was born in a flame/Mama said that everyone would know my name/I'm the best you've ever had/If you think I'm burning out, I never am/I'm on fire."
After the massive worldwide success of his 2013 single "Timber" and the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup "We Are One," "Fireball" is poised to be another smash hit for Pitbull.
Pitbull's next album Globalization is set for release this fall. Check out "Fireball" below:
