Upon the news of Jamie Barton's double victory at the 2013 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World--the mezzo won both the main award and the song prize, quite a rare feat--the Aspen Music Festival and School tore up its schedule to get the singer back to the Rockies for her first U.S. appearance post-win.
A former student at Aspen, herself, Barton returns to sing Elgar's Sea Pictures, Op. 37...in about five minutes.

So, once Marketplace has signed off, you'll be able to hear fellow Aspen alumnus James Feddeck (this year's winner of the Georg Solti Foundation's Prize, himself) lead Jamie Barton in the very work that brought her that much deserved Welsh appellation.
"We are absolutely thrilled for Jamie's success and delighted to be able to mark it with this special invitation," said Aspen's CEO Alan Fletcher. "It felt absolutely right that she should in a sense be invited home so that we can show her how proud we all are."
