Earlier this month, reports began to fly that Rich Homie Quan slapped a fan during a concert but as crazy as it sounded, the rapper went on Twitter to confirm. Now the ATL emcee is claiming he did it all in self-defense.
According to TMZ, the guy Quan slapped was actually a thief trying to rob him...mid performance, in front of the entire crowd.
A rep for Quan told TMZ the concertgoer was trying to steal Quan's watch and apparently that made him feel "some type of way."
"The person that tried to rob me was not one of my fans," Quan said. "My fans are loyal to me. I did what anyone else would do if they were being robbed."
As previously reported, Rich Homie Quan was performing at 3 Monkeys in Racine, Wisconsin on July 4 when things got physical.
The magazine's site says it all went down after the "Walk Thru" rapper extended his arm to give daps in the crowd. Apparently, one fan saw that as an opportunity to pull himself onstage using RHQ's arm but as we know now, he was trying to steal something other than the limelight.
Video of the incident was released via social media.
In one video, RHQ can be seen getting irate and exchanging words with the man. He even had the music stopped to inform everyone of what was taking place and then he proceeded to lay the smack down.
Hopefully no one will get slapped while Rich Homie Quan is out on the road for Wiz Khalifa's upcoming Under The Influence tour.
Just in case, anyone thinks they're going to pull any outlandish stunts, just know Rich Homie don't play that!
The Under The Influence tour will also feature Ty Dolla $ign, Sage the Gemini, Mack Wilds and Iamsu!
