All is now well for Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. The "Chained to the Rhythm" singer is relieved Swift accepted her apology.
A source recently revealed that Perry gave Swift an olive branch as a peace offering, and the "Red" singer accepted it.
"She has been self-reflecting lately and it feels it's better to clear the air than to have public disagreements and uncomfortable tension with people. She wants all of the negative energy cleared from her life," said a source.
Initial reports claimed that Swift tweeted about Perry's gesture and said that she was not upset at all. Rather, Swift was very touched by Perry's gesture, that is why she agreed to end their decade-long feud.
Katy Perry Is In A Good Place
When asked what inspired Perry to make amends, the source close to the singer said that she is in a good place in her life at the moment. The American Idol judge has also wanted to patch things up with Swift for quite some time now, and she wants to rekindle her friendship with her.
"Katy knows they won't be immediate friends anytime soon but is happy to be able to turn the page of their negative chapter. Katy hopes they will be back to being friends in the future, hanging out and supporting each other at their shows, but knows either way that she did her part to end the bitterness," said the source.
Katy Perry, Taylor Swift's Feud
The two singers' feud started in 2013 after it has been reported that three of Swift's dancers backed out from her tour. At the time, Perry hired them to join her on her series of Prismatic shows. One of the dancers said that working with Swift was a great opportunity, but Perry reached out to them and felt they had to grab the chance to work with her.
A year later, Swift dropped the song "Bad Blood," and fans automatically assumed that it is about her relationship with Perry. During an interview, she also said that it is about one of her friends who did something horrible to her. Hours later, Perry posted a cryptic tweet, which was seemingly intended for Swift.
In 2015, Perry was asked about her feud with Swift, but she only responded to it cryptically.
"If somebody is trying to defame my character, you're going to hear about it,
said Perry.
