EBCRuckerPark and LineRocket Entertainment have teamed up to present the EBC America Celebrity Basketball Challenge, which will feature four teams coached by rappers: Team Montana (led by French Montana), Team LA (Kendrick Lamar), Team DMV (Wale) and Team Fabolous, headed by...take a wild guess.
According to XXL the event, hosted by Power 105.1's Breakfast Club, will take place at the Barclays Center this Sunday, July 27.
Each team will battle it out to prove which city has the best basketball players. The teams will include NBA stars like John Wall, Kemba Walker, Tobias Harris, Dorell Wright, David Lee, Landry Fields, Lance Stephenson, Russ Smith, Brandon Jennings, Jordan Hamilton and Nick Young.
The event will feature live performances by Kendrick Lamar, Fabolous, Wale, Big Sean and more.
As previously reported, K Dot recently opened up about his sophomore album in an interview with Complex. He mentioned his plans moving forward and things he does to stay in good shape.
"If I keep focusing on, 'I need to make something better than good kid,' it's going to be just that," Lamar said. "That's not challenging yourself. I don't want to become that person reflecting on what has been done. What I'm doing now is the question. I'm only as good as my last word, my last hook, my last bridge."
One thing we learned from the interview, aside from the music he's working on, is Lamar eats healthy, plays basketball twice a week for exercise, rarely drinks and doesn't smoke or sip lean.
Since he stays so active, we're sure he probably has some nice handles and coaching skills.
