Little Mix is in the mood to make new music, and they want to involve their fans in the process.
On Saturday, May 12, the all-female group went on Twitter to ask their followers for ideas for upcoming songs. While some grabbed the opportunity to collaborate with the former The X Factor contestants, others took the chance to share ridiculous song ideas.
Little Mix's Next Hit Songs
Little Mix's last album, Glory Days, was released almost a year ago and, based on their social media post, the group is starting work on their next record. Not much is known about the girl power and female friendship or, as one commenter suggested, particle physics and quantum mechanics.
These song ideas are not exactly on brand, but Jade Thirwall said she is taking everyone's suggestions into consideration. However, the best idea came from Twitter user Rob Manuel.
Even Thirwall was impressed and joked that she is willing to give 5% of the publishing to Manuel.
Other more serious suggestions include songs about heartbreak, falling in love, and girl power. Some hoped that Little Mix would collaborate with Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Blackpink, Red Velvet, and more.
Despite the bizarre song ideas suggestions, the group took the trolling in stride. They thanked everyone who responded, even the ones who had crazy ideas, for participating.
Little Mix makes Empowering Stand
In March, Little Mix gave a rousing speech about being female members of the music industry at the first Global Awards in London. During the awards night, the female group took home three prizes including Best Group and Best Artist. For their acceptance speech, Thirlwall took the stage and addressed the crowd. "As a girl band, and as women, we do face a lot of scrutiny all the time, whether it's for the way we look, how much thigh we get out, how we dance, what we sing about," she shared. "And we just want to say that, although one day we hope that does stop, right now we're really not arsed what people think." Watch the full speech below.
