Kesha is spilling new details on how she got a break in the music industry. Last night, she stopped by The Tonight Show and revealed to Jimmy Fallon that she once risked jail for a chance at fame. What did she do exactly? She broke in to Prince's home in the hope that he would listen to a demo of her songs.
"So I cruised up in my dead grandpa's car. I get out of the car and there's a gardener in the front yard, and I was like, 'Here's five bucks, and like don't make a thing. I'm just going to slide right under this gate.' He just laughed and thought it was funny, and I was you know charming at the time," she explained.
After hopping the fence and walking up what she describes as a "mountain" Kesha got to Prince's frontdoor.
"So the door was open. It was unlocked. So I was like, this is basically an invitation," continued. "I walked in and everything was purple velvet. I was very pleased that my fantasy had come true and there really was purple velvet everywhere. Then I walk into the elevator, and there's Prince music playing. Then I go up the elevator, and I come out. I'm on the phone with my mom being like, 'I think I might get arrested.' And I walk about and there's Prince, playing the guitar with a beanie on, and I almost pooped by pants. He just kind of looked at me funny. I got a look like, 'Who the hell are you?' And I waved around the CD, and I put it on the table then ran away."
Luckily for Kesha, Prince didn't call the cops on her. She told Fallon that she's still waiting on a call from the Purple One, but something tells she doesn't need his help anymore.
