Rodney Cannon claims that he got into a street fight with Justin Biever after the NBA finals in Cleveland two years ago.
Cannon is suing the Canadian pop star for assault and using racial slurs from an altercation that took place back in 2016.
Man Sues Justin Bieber
Cannon detailed the encounter in the documents obtained by The Blast. He recalled being introduced to Bieber at the Westin Hotel on June 8, 2016. The "Sorry" singer playfully took Cannon's glasses off of him without permission and wore it.
When Cannon took Bieber's photo wearing the glasses, he suddenly became irate. The world-renowned star demanded that the photo be deleted and even threatened to harm Cannon physically.
The suit says that Bieber hurled racial slurs, including the n-word, in front of a group of people.
Cannon also claims that Bieber grabbed his shirt when he was walking away. The singer punched him in the face, head, and body. He added that he did not want to fight, so he responded by pinning the pop star to the ground.
That was when Bieber's security detail intervened. Cannon recounts that Bieber's bodyguard hit him so hard at the back of his head that he momentarily lost consciousness.
After the altercation, he said that he was forced to miss a couple of days of work to recuperate. His clothes and sunglasses amounting to $1,000 were also destroyed during the fight.
Cannon filed the lawsuit on Thursday, June 7. He is seeking damages for assault, battery, personal injury, and property damage.
Bieber's camp has not issued a response to the lawsuit.
Justin Bieber Attacks Man In Leaked Video
The altercation first surfaced on the news back in 2016 when TMZ obtained videos of the fist-fight. The then-22-year-old attacked the man before he was tackled to the ground. The altercation took place after Bieber watched a game between Cleveland and the Golden State.
Last year, Cannon reported the incident to the police. Authorities opened an investigation
Justin Bieber Uses N-Word
This is not the first time that Bieber got in trouble for hurling racial slurs. Back in 2014, another video emerged of the singer using the n-word in a racist joke.
"Why are black people afraid of chainsaws," he asked his friends. For the punchline, he mimics the sound of the tool by saying "run...n-word" repeatedly. A friend can be heard in the background appealing for the troubled celebrity not to use the racial slur.
Bieber was 20 years old at the time.
