Marilyn Manson has recorded a cover version of "Cry Little Sister," a track originally sang by Gerard McMahon for the X-Men spin-off, The New Mutants.
The shock rocker released his rendition of the 1987 classic on Friday, June 15.
Marilyn Manson Covers 'Cry Little Sister'
Without taking away much from the original sound of the 80s rock track, Manson's version of "Cry Little Sister" piles on the tension. The 49-year-old succeeded to make the already creepy song even more sinister.
Considering how The New Mutants is being promoted as a horror/thriller, the music icon's nightmare-inducing track would fit perfectly into the upcoming comic book movie.
According to Blabber Mouth, the singer has already filmed a music video for the OST. Bill Yukich was tapped to direct the project.
Manson previously teased the new track and upcoming music video on his official page on Instagram. He described the work as "a supernatural experience."
A supernatural experience took place whilst making our film for "CRY LITTLE SISTER." As always, @billyukich with his intimidations and enticements. (This song was recorded for @joshboonemovies upcoming movie X-MEN NEW MUTANTS)

"Cry Little Sister" is not the first classic to be covered by the shock rocker this year. According to Consequence of Sound, in April, he joined X Japan at Coachella to perform probably the most epic cover of "Sweet Dream Are Made Of This," originally performed by Eurythmics.
The New Mutants, due for release around the world in August 2019, will star Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Anya Taylor-Joy (Split), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why), Alice Braga (Queen of the South), and more.
The complete tracklist of the movie's original soundtrack has not been released. As of this writing, there's no word yet on when the music video for Manson's "Cry Little Sister" will drop.
