According to the Hollywood Reporter, Aretha Franklin received some harsh words from a server at a Johnny Rockets restaurant in Canada.
Franklin's spokesperson said it all went down Tuesday at a Johnny Rockets restaurant on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.
According to the spokesperson, Franklin ordered a hamburger after performing a sold-out show, and when the Queen of Soul received her food, things went south.
The server proceeded to scream at Franklin, saying she couldn't sit down to eat because she ordered takeout.
The NY Daily News reports the server ordered the legendary singer to get up and stand outside the perimeter of the eatery, which was in a food court.
And apparently the Johnny Rockets employee showed no regard for Franklin's celebrity once it was brought to her attention.
"My nephew mentioned to her who I was," Franklin said, "and she said she didn't care who I was."
In a statement, Franklin says the server was "very rude, unprofessional and nasty."
Regardless of her social status, Franklin was all around displeased with her service.
"She's a public servant, and she shouldn't speak that way to anybody, celebrities or non-celebrities," Franklin said.
A Johnny Rockets spokeswoman says the franchise owner is sorry for the actions of "a new and very young employee."
She says the owner has spoken with the employee and has clarified his takeout policies.
Franklin has said that she has no intentions on patronizing that location anymore.
"I like Johnny Rockets, and I'll go on liking Johnny Rockets, but not that one," Franklin said.
She believes the employee should be fired, not just "spoken to."
