Zayn Malik's anticipated second album is almost here and the singer-songwriter promises great things for his follow-up to Mind of Mine.
Zayn Malik Covers Beyoncé
On Twitter, the former One Direction member continued to tease fans by promising a few great surprises coming soon. It seems that one of those surprises is a cover of "Me, Myself, and I," which was originally performed by Beyoncé.
The track was released back in 2003 as part of the world-renowned diva's first solo album, Dangerously In Love. It went on to become a massive hit, peaking at the fourth spot of the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004.
Malik did not say whether the track will be included in his upcoming album, but his on-and-off girlfriend Gigi Hadid seems very excited over the cover. On Twitter, she responded to the post with emoji heart eyes to express her approval.
The 25-year-old previously released "Let Me," "Entertainer," and "Don't Matter."
A Different Side Of Zayn
Details about Zayn #2 has been scarce. Earlier this year, he pulled a Taylor Swift and wiped out the contents of his Instagram in preparation for the new album.
In an interview with Beats 1, he promised that everything will make sense once the still-untitled new album drops later this year.
"It's all very like, under wraps at the minute. I'm trying to keep it as mysterious as possible but there's a plan with the rollout," the former The X Factor contestant revealed. "It's going to be different to anything anyone has done before, I don't think anyone has done it this way. So it's going to be interesting to see how the audience react to this kind of release, but I wanted to try something different."
He also assured fans in a post on Instagram that the album is finally finished, although a release date has not been announced as of this writing.
Mind of Mine, Malik's first album outside of his popular boy group One Direction, was released back in 2016. The album debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200, becoming the first U.K.-based artist to top the chart with his debut. His track "Pillowtalk" also made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
