Twenty One Pilot's lengthy hiatus is officially over. The pop-rock duo has just released two new singles from their new album.
On Wednesday, July 11, the Ohio-born band dropped "Jumpsuit" and "Nico and the Niners."
Twenty One Pilots Releases New Music
First off, "Jumpsuit" was accompanied by an eerie music video, which contains bizarre imageries including a sinister-looking hooded figure on a horse that leads frontman Tyler Joseph across a stream as flower petals rain down from the sky.
"We've been here the whole time. You were asleep," the video began. "Time to wake up."
The second single is "Nico and the Niners," a more upbeat new track. It also referenced the other new song.
"I'm heavy/ My jumpsuit is on steady/ I'm lighter when I'm lower," Joseph sang. "I'm higher when I'm heavy."
"
Both songs are included in Twenty One Jumpsuit's next album Trench, which will be released later this year. It will be the duo's first album in three years and the follow-up to the 2015 award-winning album, Blurryface.
Joseph and his partner Josh Dun has been working on the album for the past year. The duo went silent on July 7, 2017.
Last week, they roused their fanbase and ended their hiatus with a cryptic e-mail.
Twenty One Pilots Announces Tour
In addition to a new album, the duo is also heading back on the road this year to support their new music. The Twenty One Pilots also announced on Twitter a massive 55-date North American and European tour.
Called "The Bandito Tour," the major tour will kick off at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Oct. 16. The North American trek concludes at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri on Nov. 21.
Meanwhile, the European leg of the tour, meanwhile, begins in Kiev, Ukraine on Jan. 30, 2019 and ends Lisbon, Portugal's Altice Arena on March 17, 2018.
They also added six shows in Australia and New Zeland that will take place throughout December.
Presale tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. local time but fans can begin to register for early access via the band's official website as early as today. The general sale will open next week, July 20, at 10 a.m. local time.
Trench will be released on Oct. 5.
