Ariana Grande: Break Free
Playing into the magazine's annual back-to-school issue, Grande looks like a ready to go student on the cover, with her signature half high ponytail, a bold blue headband, tweed, strapless dress, high denim stockings and brown leather boots.

In the magazine itself, the normally open singer is particularly reflective about her struggles in the music industry and within her family, including her strained relationship with her father, Edward Butera.
Grande admitted that the hardest thing in her life thus far has been, "Falling out of touch with my dad."
"It's private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be okay with it," she said. The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn't like that about myself. I had to accept that it's okay not to get along with somebody and still love them."
Grande did also speak out about one loving family member: her beloved grandfather, who passed away after the magazine went to print.
"He was like, 'you're a star, I know in my heart you're going to make this family so proud. You're a blessing.' And I was like, oh my god, and started crying, and I trusted it," she said.
Grande's issue of Seventeen will hit newsstands on Aug. 5. Her new album, My Everything will follow on Aug. 25.
