Coronavirus Update: Celebrities Who Tested Positive

Coronavirus caught the whole world by surprise, and this is just the first quarter of 2020. Stars, like the rest of us, are not spared from the highly infectious disease. Here is a list (updated) of celebrities who tested positive:

Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne is the latest celebrity to join the list of those of celebrities who tested positive with Covid-19. He shares his experience in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone. The singer-songwriter is currently under self-quarantine at his Los Angeles Home for his recovery.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks disclosed in his Instagram account on March 12 that both his and her wife's tests came out positive. The actor was preparing to make a film about Elvis Presley when they experienced the symptoms similar to a cold. He and his wife, Rita Wilson, are in Australia until this day.

Earlier, Wilson posted a video on Instagram rapping to the beat "Hip Hop Hooray" while in self-quarantine. Hanks, on the other hand, shared on Twitter that they are feeling better. He went on to say, "this, too, shall pass."

Andrew Watt

On March 16, the 29-year-old music producer posted in his social media account that he had contracted the virus. He initially felt the symptoms on March 6, but it was not easy for him to undergo a test at once.

Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre

The British actor announced on March 17 through his Twitter that his diagnosis came out to be positive. He assured fans that he was feeling good, though. He went on reminding everyone to take the situation seriously, follow social distancing, and always wash hands.


His wife, model-actress Sabrina Dhowre, later on, contracted the virus as well. She shared the information on Oprah Winfrey's "Oprah Talks COVID-19," Apple TV+ series on March 21. Together with Oprah, the couple resonated the social impact of the pandemic.

Charlotte Lawrence

The 19-year-old rising pop singer also posted March 17 on Instagram that she caught the Covid-19. Lawrence received encouragement from her celebrity friends and those in the music community.

Debi Mazar

On March 21, the actress known for her roles in "Entourage", "Goodfellas", and "Younger" announced on Instagram her condition. It started as a family sickness, and they have been following the required 14-day quarantine.

David Bryan

The keyboardist of Bon Jovi, publicly shared that he tested positive on Saturday, March 21, He is now under self-isolation.

Colton Underwood

The former NFL athlete who starred in Season 23 of "The Bachelor" took to Instagram about the positive results of his test on March 20. He is under self-quarantine in his girlfriend's family home in Huntington Beach, CA.

Placido Domingo

The world-renowned Spanish tenor shared his condition through his Facebook account on Sunday. He wrote, "it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for COVID19". He and his family are now in self-isolation.

Daniel Dae Kim

On March 19, the actor shared a video on Instagram from his home in Hawaii, saying that he tested positive. The "Hawaii Five-O" and "Lost" actor believes he was infected while shooting the TV series "The New Amsterdam" in New York City.

On Sunday, he gave an update on his improving health. He further shared the medicines that helped in his recovery.

Harvey Weinstein

The latest to be added on the list is the convicted rapist and former producer Harvey Weinstein. He is currently locked up in a correction facility in New York City. Two other prisoners have gone down with the coronavirus.

Kristofer Hivju

"Tormund Giantsbane" in the HBO series "Game of Thrones", Hivju wrote on his Instagram account of his sickness on March 17. He is based in Norway with his family.

Rachel Matthews

The "Frozen 2" actress, who played Honeymaren in the film shared in PageSix, said that she has been in quarantine due to the coronavirus.

Several musicians unselfishly shared their music and chats via live streaming to ease the boredom of self-isolation.

NBA Players with Coronavirus

In the field of professional basketball, several players publicly declared that they had contracted Covid-19. It has led the NBA to suspend the games until further notice. Listed are the members who tested positive for coronavirus and the date it was announced:

  • Rudy Gobert of Utah Jazz - March 11
  • Donovan Mitchell of Utah Jazz - March 12
  • Christian Wood of Detroit Pistons - March 14
  • Kevin Durant of Brooklyn Nets - March 17
  • Marcus Smart of Boston Celtics - March 19

There are other unnamed players - three from Brooklyn Nets (March 17) and two from Los Angeles Lakers (March 19) who also have been infected.

Kanye West had himself tested, and it came out negative. He was exposed to Durant four days before the confirmation.

Coronavirus Update

As of this writing, confirmed cases in the U.S. had reached more than 35,000, with more than 400 deaths. California imposed a lockdown for its 40 million people over the weekend. Ohio and Louisana are the latest states to announce the stay-at-home directive.
