Chris Brown has been undergoing a number of legal issues, but there may be health problems thrown into the mix as well. The R&B star reportedly suffered a seizure while at a recording studio in Los Angeles on Friday. TMZ reported that the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an emergency call at Record Plant Studios, where Brown was working until the early morning. According to the reports, Brown declined treatment was was not taken away from the scene in an ambulance.
Brown's representative confirmed the reports, but didn't hold back on spinning it so that the media and the judgmental were to blame.
"Chris suffered a nonepileptic seizure," they responded. "His doctor tneded (sic) to him this afternoon and attributes the [seizure] to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity."
The "unfounded" legal matters most likely refer to the hit-and-run case that a Los Angeles judge ruled violated Brown's probation from his 2009 assault on Rihanna. Brown rear-ended a driver in Los Angeles, that much is clear, but the story splits depending on who you ask. Brown claims to have given his information to the driver, and noted that no damage was done. The driver claims Brown berated her and sped off. The police indicted Brown for hit-and-run, citing that he failed to give proper insurance information (he wasn't driving his own car), and that his Virginia license wasn't valid. The probation violation could result in up to six years in prison if Brown is found guilty.
Brown emoted a bit on Twitter last week, telling fans that he was tired of being judged for the Rihanna incident, and that his upcoming album will "probably" be his last.
