Country singer John Prine is now in a "stable" condition though he is still in the intensive care unit. He was hospitalized after having symptoms of coronavirus infection and was in critical condition that time.
His wife Fiona Whelan Prine yesterday tweeted about her husband's current condition. "Please continue to send your amazing love and prayers," she added. The singer's representative said that Prine is still in the respirator despite his "stable" condition. Prine was tested positive for coronavirus. Fiona advised her husband's fans to wash their hands. She clarifies that he is still in not in good shape. Popculture reported that Fiona has also contracted with the virus but has recovered, according to her tweet.
Prine's Health
Prine is one of the most influential country singers. He is 73 years old. The singer was diagnosed with an operable lung cancer in 2013 and a part of his left lung was removed. The surgery affected his voice but he can still do performances. In the '90s, he was also diagnosed with squamous-cell cancer on his neck, he returned to music after many surgeries, radiation, and treatments.

All over Twitter, messages and prayers of support poured to the singer and his s family. and his health after the singer was tested positive and was hospitalized due to the virus. Some artists performed from their homes to give tribute to the country legend.
Joan Baez, a folk music legend covered Prine's debut single "Hello In There," in her home.
Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy and sons Spencer and Sammy covered "Illegal Smile" during their livestream. The Tweedy patriarch also covered "Angel From Montgomery," Prine's most famous song written by himself.
Mac McAnally, an award-winning musician from Nashville also played "Hello In There" and called Prine "friend and hero" on Twitter.
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, meanwhile, wished Prine to "beat this (virus)" in his video message on Twitter.
The Decemberists' Colin Meloy cover Prine's song "Angel From Montgomery" in his Sunday livestream on YouTube. He also encouraged his fans to sing-along for Prine's recovery.
Artists who were Positive for Coronavirus
Aside from Prine, there are other artists who had been contracted with the coronavirus with the first two reported and disclosed being Rita Wilson, who got the virus while shooting a movie in Australia with her husband Tom Hanks. Actor and DJ Idris Elba also got the virus and he was in self-quarantine. Andrew Watt, a known music producer disclosed on Instagram that he is also positive for coronavirus and exhibited symptoms.
Some of the other artitsts and celebrities who tested postive for coronavirus were Brandon Hoover, the Crown the Empire guitarist; singer Kalie Shorr who contracted the virus despite undergoing a 21-day quarantine; rapper Slim Thug; and Rock Hall of Fame inductee Jackson Browne. Singer-songwriter Charlotte LAwrence also confirmed via Instagaram that she was COVID-positive, although asymptomatic.
