Look who's back! Lindsay Lohan returns to the music industry after dropping her newest single, "Back To Me" on April 3. The song is the singer-actress' first official single in 12 years.
Bearing an electro-pop beat, "Back to Me" is related to Lohan's difficult issues in the past. It focuses on how her experiences made her stronger.
On the comeback song, she narrates, "My life is full of ripped up pages/ I've been weak, contagious/ But I'm coming back/ I'm coming back to me/ Oh, but I know that everything changes."
In August 2019, Lohan had a single "Xanax" featuring Alma. However, this song has not been heard since then. Her last track, "Bossy" was out way back 2008.
The "Mean Girl" actress had posted teasers for the comeback on her social accounts. On April 1, she writes, "I'm back" with wide-opened eyes emoji. The 30-second "eerie" video showed compiled clips from previous controversial news in which she was involved; her name repeatedly said over and over by reporters.
A day after, another teaser was published. With a snippet of the catchy song, Lohan captioned it "rediscovering and accepting oneself, shutting out the noise and moving forward and the past go". She further added, "(l)iving in the now."
On April 3, "Back to Me" was released together with a lyric music video. See it here -
Disney's "Parent Trap" actress has released two studio albums. The first album "Speak" peaked at No. 4 at the Billboard 200 in 2004. Meanwhile, the debut single "Rumors" marked her entry into the pop world.
LL's sophomore album, "A Little More Personal (Raw)" was released the following year. The album reached No. 20 on the charts. "Confession Of A Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)", peaked at number 57 on the Billboard 100 chart in 2005.
Lindsay Lohan's controversial life
As a 10-year-old actress, Lohan captured the hearts of movie fans as a twin in the lovable 1988 remake of "The Parent Trap". She soon starred in Disney hit movies: 2003's "Freaky Friday" and 2004's "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen".
Another iconic movie she headed was the teeny-bop film "Mean Girls". "Herbie: Fully Loaded" was her return movie to Disney in 2005.
Not long after, she spent more time at nightclubs that made the tabloids go after her along with domestic issues and health struggles. She had her shares of arrests due to drug possession and DUI in 2007. The actress-pop star, as reported, checked in at rehabilitation facilities between 2007 - 2012 due to drug and alcohol abuse. She faced time for a few days in jail due to a probationary violation and for missing alcohol education sessions.
During a New Year's interview with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper in January this year, Lohan hinted at an American comeback. Previous to her return, she spent her life in Dubai, away from the spotlight. In 2018, she opened a Lohan Beach House club in Mykonos, Greece.
She revealed in the CNN interview that she wanted to focus on herself, to take back the life she worked hard for and share it again with family and fans.
Last year, she signed up with Casablanca Records and said that her third album would be out at the end of February. As of now, only her new single "Back to Me" has been released.
