BTS sure knows how to keep the ARMY alive and kicking with excitement. RM, one of the seven members of BTS, Kpop's biggest band, revealed that the group is preparing for its next album. RM on Friday, live-streamed from BANGTANTV's official channel on YouTube, and shared what BTS has been up to while staying in South Korea. BTS postponed their world tour of "Map of the Soul" due to the crisis brought about by the coronavirus. The South Korean leg was canceled ahead.
RM said that the members were trying something new, now that they have much time on their hands, according to the translated stream on Soompi. Namjoon, as he is also called, also mentioned that the members wanted to share what the group has been doing "to feel more connected." He said that the Bangtan boys are "doing a lot of things together." He further revealed that BTS intends to "share our lives with you about once a week."
Fresh from the debut of "Map of the Soul: 7" last February 21, 2020, RM talked about their comeback with a new album. He said during the live stream; the boys have started preparing for it. He continued to say that updates will be shared as the band goes into the preparation process of the album. For now, there are still no details on the table yet, the rapper revealed. He promised though that BTS will be working hard on the new project.
RM also mentioned not being certain when the album will come out. He admitted there will be moments that cannot be shared because the album-making process will not always be pleasing. Still, he said, "we'll do our best" without knowing what the result might be.
"Map of the Soul: 7" is their biggest hit album to date. It has sold 4.7 million copies in South Korea alone. According to sources, BTS is the first South Korean group to have sold 20.3 million accumulative albums. This information was confirmed by BigHit Entertainment, the management team handling the band. The album contains their sensational hits "On," "Boy with Luv," "Black Swan," and "Make It Right." "Map of the Soul:7" marks their seventh year in the music industry.
Bang bang Con
BTS is the acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan, which is from a Korean expression. It means Bulletproof Boy Scouts. The boyband started in 2013 and had sold out many singles, albums, and concerts around the world. The band's phenomenon grew into a worldwide sensation even if most of their songs are in their native language. Not to be kept away from the ARMY for too long due to the pandemic, BTS decided to come up with at-home concert series "Bang Bang Con." The online streaming special is a 2-day event that started earlier today (11 pm ET/ 8 pm PT) that will feature eight of their sold-out concerts from 2014 to 2017. "Bang Bang Con" is currently streaming on YouTube. In the opening minutes of the widely anticipated, viewers hooked in from all over the world reached 2.1 million. It is now the No. 1 trending in the U.S. on Twitter.
