Since Shania Twain will end her residency in Las Vegas with a final show December 13th, fans are wondering what is next for the country superstar. When she did a Q&A with fans on Facebook earlier this month, a fan asked her if she would ever do Dancing with the Stars. Shania's answer was "I'd consider it!"
Before you could blink, headlines were screaming that Twain was "closing the deal" to join the show.
This is either one or two cases:
A. Entertainment sites are reaching and creating stories where there are none or
B. Shania is already set to do the show and her way of leaking the story was via an innocent (and totally planted) question during a Q&A.
With Season 19 of the popular show kicking off on September 15, 2014, the cast and stars will probably be announced either late next month or in early September, so for now, the details are all best guesses and rumors.
According to HollywoodLife.com, there is more to this story than just rumors. They say that a source shared with them that Shania is "very, very, very close to signing on the show."
Other rumored contestants for this season have been Andi Dorfman from Bachelorette, Landon Donovan (soccer player for L.A. Galaxy) and Tim Howard (from the United States men's national soccer team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup).
If Shania does join the cast, she will be the fourth country music singer to compete on Dancing With the Stars. Sara Evans appeared in Season 3 and was partnered with Tony Dovolani. She withdrew from the competition in week 6 in order to be with her kids during the difficult time that comes from divorce. Chuck Wicks danced his way to 6th place in Season 8 with Julianne Hough. Season 16 saw Wynonna briefly. She was partnered with Dovolani and was the first celeb of the season to be eliminated.
If Shania doesn't join the cast, which country singer(s) do you think would be great additions? Carrie Underwood? LeAnn Rimes? Keith Urban? Cole Swindell? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
