English singer-songwriter Jessie Ware has departed from her "Glasshouse" image and is set to release a bolder step in her music career. With the pushed back scheduled release of her latest album "What's Your Pleasure?," the three-time Brit Awards nominee relates that her new album is about her longing for something. Jessie Ware also shared the podcast she is currently doing with mom Lennie Ware is something very natural to her.
In an interview with BBC, she recalled that people are comfortable confiding with her. "I always seem to be that person that somebody's telling their life story to in the toilet at a party", she said.
"What's Your Pleasure?," Jessie Ware's latest and fourth album is set to be released on June 26.
Turning Table
It started with the underwhelming sales of her last album, "Glasshouse," which received a 'little too safe' comment.
This resulted in her mom suggesting her quit the music industry.
This is where the successful podcast, Table Manners, was introduced. The mother-daughter tandem cook and share a meal for a celebrity guest while grilling them and drawing candid confessions during the podcast.
The podcast which has 80 million+ downloads highlighted several chit-chats with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Aisling Bea to name a few.
Career re-evaluation
The 35-year-old pop and R&B singer hinted that the success of their podcast which is now on its 10th series made her re-evaluate her career in music.
Jessie Ware admitted that she had to do some explorations and figure out what she wanted and discover new things about herself.
Ware shifted back to her cutting-edge club sounds while releasing her inner horny sorceress.
"What's Your Pleasure?" album will include an update of Donna Summer's "Love to Love You Baby" and a more sensual "Save A Kiss."
Fantasizing Pleasure
Jessie Ware, who is a mom of two, labeled "What's Your Pleasure?" as pure escapism. "Let's fantasize, let's do everything faster and sexier and naughtier," she stressed.
She revealed that she has been longing for a bit of a night out while being intimate with another new person or a stranger. According to Jessie Ware, the record was written in total fantasy given her nightlife which requires her to deal with her kids from 2 am to 5 am.
Now, while being quarantined with her husband and two children Ware is admittedly obsessed with the TV adaptation of "Normal People." Ware loves the book as she said and thought that the TV adaptation was beautiful particularly the lead actor's performance. Upon knowing that Paul Mescal, who's playing the show's lead actor Connell, lives in London she jokingly warned that he better watch out the end of lockdown as all women are to jump him according to her.
