Charlie Puth has a direct plea to the BTS fans. Puth broke his silence as he can no longer take the toxicity he felt and ended up posting on Twitter. He full-heartedly begged the fans of the boy band BTS to back off, according to Variety. The singer/ songwriter called it a "dangerous, toxic screaming matching between the fandoms."

On Sunday, July 5, he took to his Twitter, saying that he does not usually think about things like this, but he needs to speak up. Puth pointed out that the toxic internet screaming match should stop. Lastly, he said he is 28-years-old and nasty messages from unknown people don't mean anything to him. With 10,000 retweets, within three hours, Charlie Puth wrote, "...I don't know what that means - I love those guys, and they are super talented. In the 2018 performance of BTS, Charlie Puth performed a duet with Jungkook, and they sang "We Don't Talk Anymore" at the MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards. Puth praised the talent of the group and asked for peace. The K-pop group's legions called BTS ARMY likely spammed several posts of the singer in Tiktok with several teasing comments from the boyband's followers. One wrote, "Remember when you used Jungkook four clout?" the commenter referred to the 22-year-old BTS member. Other posts claimed that Charlie used BTS for "fame," as per Variety. BTS' Twitter fans reacted with some confusion by citing a difference between BTS' TikTok and Twitter fans. Puth said that the kind of language directed to him could negatively affect him if ever it happened ten years ago. He is worried about all other young people who use Twitter and witness stuff like the internet screaming match of the fandoms that have happened daily. Meanwhile, the 2020 stadium tour of BTS was postponed amidst the COVID-19. The group composed of members Jin, Suga, Jimin, RM, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook streamed its own "Bang Bang Con: The Live" event recently. The presentation consisted of a 14-song setlist.
