Juice WRLD's team has finally released the late rapper's posthumous third album "Legends Never Die," on Friday, July 10.
The new 21-track setlist features guest performances from hip-hop artists Trippie Redd, Polo G, and The Kid Laroi. Juice WRLD has also collaborated with EDM star Marshmello and pop singer Halsey.
"Legends Never Die," however, contains but a fraction of the late Chicago rapper's unreleased works. A month after his death, his team announced that WRLD has left behind some two thousand songs. Twenty-six of these posthumous tracks were leaked by user "999 WRLD" on Soundcloud's music streaming platform.
Following the leak, Juice WRLD's label, Grade A, and his family released a joint statement. "From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each and every one of you for your undivided adoration and love for Juice," the joint statement read. They said that they all plan to "honor Juice's talents, his spirit, and the love he felt for his fans by sharing unreleased music and other projects that he was passionately in the process of developing."
The album was preceded by the single "Righteous," first released on April 24. It was later announced to be the lead single for the then-upcoming "Legends Never Die." It was followed by the "Tell Me U Luv Me," supported by his frequent collaborator Trippie Redd, on May 29. It was soon followed by the Juice WRLD - Halsey project "Life's A Mess" on July 6.
Marshmello and WRLD's "Come & Go" was the last track to drop, released on Thursday, July 9.
The WRLD Crashes Spotify and Apple Music
A few minutes after Juice WRLD's "Legends Never Die" hit the streaming platforms, fans have reported that the late artist's Spotify and Apple Music pages have crashed. The Standard, an online entertainment portal, was the first to verify the downtime.
The British media outlet confirmed that the late artist's Spotify page was unable while its desktop counterpart was "working properly." It also added that Apple Music for Juice WRLD is operating without any problems.
Because "Legends Never Die"
Juice WRLD's first posthumous album follows the 2019 "Death Race for Love." Seven months after his death last December 2019 due to a drug-induced seizure, his team has steadily released new material.
On January 17, 2020, Eminem released his eleventh studio album "Music to be Murdered By." Slim collaborated with WRLD on the viral track "Godzilla," which peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100.
The following month, on February 28, it was G Herbo's turn to feature a previously-unreleased work with Juice in the title track of his fourth album "PTSD," also including Chance the Rapper and Lil Uzi Vert. It marked the return on WRLD and Lil Uzi Vert since the 2018 "Wasted."
Last March 13, YNW Melly released his debut album "Melly vs. Melvin," which featured the Juice WRLD-supported "Suicidal" remix.
As a part of the rising Latin music scene, Juice WRLD also appeared on the multilingual hit "No Me Ame." He worked together with the Puerto Rican hip-hop star Anuel AA and the Jamaican record producer Rvssian.
