Shaylen is back with new single "Forgive Myself"

On July 17, Shaylen drops a brand new single entitled "Forgive Myself" via The Heavy Group/Republic Records.

Listen to "Forgive Myself" HERE.

"Forgive Myself" is about learning one of the hardest lessons in life...self-forgiveness. Written and produced during self-isolation, the song shows the brutally honest pen-game that has become the hallmark of Shaylen's reputation. "Forgive Myself" was executive produced and co-written by Jackson Foote from the much beloved electro pop group Loote and produced by Boston from Rice N' Peas (Bazzi, Kiana Ledé, Anne Marie).

The track shows yet another side of the lyrical songstress. Airy guitar underscores confessions many may have but are hard to confront as she admits, "Don't know how to love myself without somebody hanging in my bed" and "Don't know how to be alone without the thought of crawling out my skin." It builds towards an impressive vocal run fueled by just the right amount of throwback R&B vocal fireworks and pop punch.

Of the track, Shaylen says, "I wrote 'Forgive Myself' when I was in a really tough spot mentally. It's all about my personal struggle with self-forgiveness. We are often taught the importance of apologizing and forgiving others but not the importance of forgiving ourselves when we mess up. I invented apologies, so I know all about it..."

"Forgive Myself" paves the way for more music to come from Shaylen this summer, as she continues to build buzz with her honest lyrics and powerhouse vocals. She recently lent her voice to the Chantel Jeffries banger "Come Back To Me." It's already clocked over 1.2 million Spotify streams and counting. In addition to plugs from Billboard, E! News, Variety, Elite Daily and more, CULTR praised Shaylen's "powerful and meaningful vocals."

ABOUT SHAYLEN
Shaylen leaves a mark on pop by casually dropping the sort of lines you get tattooed somewhere scandalous or reserve for a drunk DM. Unafraid, unapologetic and unfiltered, she'll put a boring ex on blast in one breath and open up about her deepest insecurities in the next. Yet, she sets gleefully pins those confessions to a defiant soundtrack of R&B, pop and alternative across her debut EP Highs & Lows and the buzzing 2019 single "Sprite." Posting up over 10 million streams within a year and receiving praise from Billboard, Just Jared, Hollywood Life, Popdust and Idolator who pegged her as "on the brink of a major breakthrough," the Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter turns heads in 2020 with a series of singles and her forthcoming full-length debut album for Republic Records.
