Malina Moye's hit song "Enough" had sparked the global campaign and movement #IAMENOUGH last year. Now, it is gaining popularity once more.
"Enough", which was released on June 29, 2019, was described by Billboard as an "empowering and a much-needed song". Though the song and campaign were released in 2019, it saw a sudden resurgence on Instagram following the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement. The hashtag #IAMENOUGH has grown to have over four million posts.
For the #IAMENOUGH movement, Malina Moye encourages people to take a photo and post it to Instagram along with the hashtag. As the song "Enough" talks about embracing individuality and refusing to change to fit with societal standards, Malina Moye encourages people to show their true, authentic selves.
Many big-name celebrities have stepped up and joined the campaign, such as Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockton, Yolanda Adams, and Sister Sledge's Kathy Sledge. They then encouraged their fans to participate in the movement.
Following the success of the #IAMENOUGH movement, Malina Moye released merchandise for the campaign. All of the profits made from the sales of the merchandise will be going to Moye's own foundation, DrveHope.org. She promoted herself as not only a musical artist during the campaign period, but also as a motivational speaker, speaking about her growth from being hopeless to achieving her number one Billboard album, "Bad As I Wanna Be".
She had numerous events to promote the #IAMENOUGH movement, such as GRRRL LIVE, She Rocks It at Live Nation Headquarters, and performed in high schools and non-profit organizations around the United States.
For those who want to join the movement, share a photo to Instagram and add the hashtag to your caption! During these uncertain times, what people need now is togetherness, and music is one of the ways to unify with other people.
