"The Greatest Showman" has been added to Disney+ and many are asking if the musical drama film will ever get a sequel.
The biographical film about P.T. Barnum and his many unlikely stars was a huge hit last December 2017. Having such overwhelming success, talks about The Greatest Showman 2 are still likely going to happen.
The movie stars Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, Zac Efron, Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Williams, and other talented celebrities.
There are currently no official announcements about a sequel to the musical movie but there were plenty of talks about it happening. This indicates that The Greatest Showman 2 could still happen.
In a 2019 interview, director Michael Gracey shared that they were discussing and working on a sequel to the film. "The Greatest Showman" star Jackman, confirmed this on another radio interview. It is important to note that, though he did say The Greatest Showman 2 was not sure just yet, he did say that it was in early development.
The project is not yet greenlit but Gracey and Jackman are heavily involved on it.
Hugh Jackman is best known for his iconic portrayal of the Marvel superhero Wolverine. However, he started out as a musical performer in Broadway theatre. This landed him the role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, where he won plenty of acting and musical awards.
Similarly, Zac Efron is also passionate about broadway musicals where he starred in the "High School Musical" trilogy. He acted in plenty of subsequent films but it was only in "The Greatest Showman" when he returned to musicals.
Zendaya, known for her acting roles, is also a singer and dancer. She was one of the contestants in the dance competition show "Dancing with the Stars." On top of that, she released singles "Watch Me" and "Replay." She showcases both her dancing and singing skills in "The Greatest Showman" movie.
People who are fans of the movie or are fans of musicals in general can watch "The Greatest Showman" on Disney+, where it was recently added.
