Taylor Swift proves she's always full of surprises. After suddenly announcing and releasing her eighth studio album "folklore", the singer sent a surprise shipment to numerous indie record shop a bunch of signed CDs of her album.
The owner of Strictly Discs in Wisconsin, Angie Roloff, told Billboard about the surprise gift, saying, "Yesterday, I got an email from our Universal representative that we were one of the stores that had been chosen to receive thirty autographed Taylor Swift CDs. We were not permitted to talk about it until we had the CDs on hand, and then we could post socially about it so people could come and find us. And the other requirement was it has to be sold to local customers, not just ship them to people outside of our immediate area. So today has been the day of Taylor Swift frenzy, which was actually pretty fun."
Angie Roloff revealed that at press time, the signed "folklore" CDs were sold out almost sold out immediately. It was put on the shelves at 11 AM, and all thirty CDs were sold by about 11:40 AM. Just proves how popular Taylor Swift is!
Roloff went on to reveal that she has been getting a bunch of messages on Instagram, with people telling them that her phones are busy. Hundreds of people have been trying to reach their lines, with numerous Swifties calling to place an order over the phone and then driving to pick up the CD curbside.
