Robert Pattinson is found to have contracted COVID-19. While filming for The Batman movie near London, the "Twilight" star tested positive for the coronavirus.
Seeing that the lead actor caught the disease, the team behind the dark knight film had to pause the production again. This was after they recently resumed working on the film after a six-month delay. Back then, filming in Glasgow was halted due to the pandemic lockdown.
Pattinson has not made any official announcement regarding his situation. However, the actor is reported to be in isolation and adhering to necessary protocols. He, along with "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson, is one of many actors who contracted the disease so far.
The English actor recently starred with actor John David Washington in spy film "Tenet," directed by Christopher Nolan. The film is about a spy who manipulates time in order to stop World War III from happening. Nolan was also the director of another Batman film series dubbed "The Dark Knight Trilogy"
Pattinson is best known for his portrayal as Edward Cullen in Twilight series. He also sung some tracks for the soundtrack of the film. The "Twilight" star was first known for his appearance in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" as Hogwarts representative Cedric Diggory.
He joins the many list of actors who played the DC superhero - Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who also worked on Cloverfield and Planet of the Apes film series. The film features prominent comic book characters played by talented actors. Romantic partner Catwoman is played by Zoe Kravitz, ally James Gordon is played by Jeffrey Wright, villains The Riddler and The Penguin are played by Paul Dano and Colin Farrell respectively.
Because of the delay, the production behind The Batman film moved the release schedule to October 2021 instead of the initial date June 2021.
