Travis Scott is probably going to be the first celebrity to have their name on a McDonald's menu. Thirty years ago, Michael Jordan also had his name on one of the meals in the fast-food menu. It was a cheeseburger with bacon, barbeque sauce, sesame seed bun, and the meal was called "McJordan."
Now, Scott's meal will have the Quarter Pounder with bacon, lettuce, barbeque sauce, some fries, and a cup of Sprite. This $6 serving is called "The Travis Scott Meal" and will be available for a limited time.
McDonald's and Scott's label Cactus Jack confirmed the collaboration via Twitter. The company tweeted a French fries photo with cactus and burger emojis while the rapper retweeted the post. Fans can order the meal starting this Tuesday, September 8, and will be available for less than a month - until October 4.
According to Morgan Flatley, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald's: "Everyone has a favorite McDonald's meal, no matter who you are." He added that the company is excited to bring the Travis Scott Meal to all branches in the US. On top of that, Scott and McDonald's will be supporting charities while promoting the Travis Scott Meal.
Scott is known for his blend of traditional hip hop and ambient music. His single "Sicko Mode" from his third studio album Astroworld made it to the top of the Billboard charts. The rapper's first studio album is Rodeo, launched in 2015, and his second studio album is Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, released in 2016.
The Cactus Jack rapper was also nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. His songs "New Slaves," "Love Galore," and "Sicko Mode" almost got the award for Best Rap Song. He was also nominated twice for Best Rap/Sung Performance for songs "Sicko Mode" and "The London."
Back in April, Travis Scott collaborated with Epic Games to bring his album Astroworld to the phenomenal video game "Fortnite."
