Harry Styles will be replacing Shia LaBeouf in Olivia Wilde's psychological thriller "Don't Worry Darling", three years after he made his big-screen debut with "Dunkirk".

The New Line movie stars Florence Pugh playing an unhappy housewife in the 1950s who slowly starts to questions her own sanity. She starts to notice strange happenings in her small, utopian community, set in the Californian desert. Harry Styles will play alongside Florence Pugh as her picture-perfect husband, who is undoubtedly in love with her but is hiding a dark secret.

Other confirmed cast members include Chris Pine and Dakota Johnson. Chris Pine plays a leader of a mysterious worksite where all the men employed come from just outside of town. Chris Pine's character is revered by all his employees and his wives in an almost cult-like sense. Dakota Johnson, on the other hand, plays Florence Pugh's neighbor who suddenly begins exhibiting strange, paranoid behavior. She tried to warn Florence Pugh that their neighborhood is not as clean as it seems.

Olivia Wilde will also be playing a minor, but key supporting role.

Olivia Wilde first made her directorial debut with the teen comedy "Booksmart". Now, she is challenging the role of director again alongside writer Katie Silberman. Silberman too wrote the script for "Booksmart", rewriting the original script from Carey and Shane Van Dyke. Olivia Wilde and Katie Silberman will produce "Don't Worry Darling" alongside Vertigo's Roy Lee and Miri Yoon, and the Van Dykes will act as executive producer alongside Catherine Hardwicke. New Line executives Dara Cercek and Celia Khong will be overseeing the film.

New Line is Warner Media-owned, and Warner has been eager to work with Styles again following the film "Dunkirk". Previously, he was up for the lead role in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis Presley, but he ultimately lost the role to Austin Butler. Disney sent Styles their own love call, offering him the role of Prince Eric for its live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid", but Harry Styles ended up turning down the role.

Initially, Shia LaBeouf was meant to act in "Don't Worry Darling", but backed out due to scheduling conflict. This allowed Styles to snatch the role.

Olivia Wilde has a wide array of directing projects under her belt, including a new Marvel movie for Sony and a gymnastic drama titled "Perfect". "Don't Worry Darling" is expected to be her most upcoming feature, as the cast has already been announced.
