Sam Smith released single "Diamonds" from upcoming third studio album "Love Goes."
The English singer-songwriter announced that the launch date of the album will be on October 30, 2020. The announcement was posted on a written statement on their Instagram, with the artist expressing how excited they are about it.
They shared that the songs on the album were written over the last two years. The "Lay Me Down" singer said that the said years were experimental periods of their lives. This is not only in terms of personal life but also with regards to their musical creativity. Sam Smith promised that each song will tell a separate story that is a result of not holding back and fully embracing their love for singing, dancing, as well as creating music. Fans who want to pre-order the album can do so now at samsmithworld.com.
The music video for "Diamonds" now has over 2.3 million views, 249 thousand likes, and 10 thousand comments. In it, the singer is found dancing dramatically while singing to fully express the emotion of the lyrics.
Back in March, Smith announced that the said album was going to get delayed. They originally intended to have it released on May 1. The "Money on My Mind" pop star also announced that the initial album name "To Die For" will have to be changed. They addressed the delay as well as the name change on a letter posted on their Instagram account.
"I am sorry it's taken awhile, but these unprecedented times gave me the room and space to fall in love with these songs all over again," the Grammy-winning singer apologized. Sam Smith became popular when they were featured in songs "Latch" by Disclosure and "La La La" by Naughty Boy.
"Love Goes" will be available on every music streaming platform at the end of October.
