Post Malone is leading this year's Billboard Music Awards with the most nominations. The "White Iverson" rapper was nominated for 16 awards this 2020. He got nominations for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, and Top Rap Tour. His third studio album, "Hollywood's Bleeding," was nominated for Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Rap Album.
Post Malone collaborated with Swae Lee for the song "Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)" for the superhero animated film. The track got nominations for Top Collaboration (Fan-Voted) and Top Streaming Song. Under the Top Rap Song category, Malone got two nominations - one for "Sunflower" and another for the "Wow" track.
Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, and Khalid come in second and third for the artists with most nominations at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. Lil Nas X got 13 nominations while Eilish and Khalid are tied with 12 nominations each. Lil Nas X and Eilish are first-time nominees this year.
The event will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event will go live this October 14 at 8:00 pm ET on NBC. The original schedule was supposed to be on April 29, 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic.
Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, is working on his debut album and announced last July that it is "almost finished." He revealed titles of some of the songs, including "Call Me By Your Name," "One of Me," "Titanic," and "Don't Want It." Billie Eilish performed her most recently released song "My Future" during the Democratic National Convention last month. As for Khalid, he surpassed Ariana Grande as the biggest global artist on Spotify.
