With over a year of no international touring for any artists, it was either time to relax, or time to dedicate to the studios. Latter option is what EDM newcomer Amalia Kadis chose to do, after releasing a successful debut album last summer. And it looks like number two is right around the corner.
Kadis introduced herself to the scene with a couple of singles at the beginning of 2020, with her second release "Goodbye", featuring prestigious electronic producer REDD, gaining her her first hit, as well as some very excited fans. The norm in the industry would have been an extensive summer of touring, playing sets around the anthem as well as plenty of unreleased song, teased at live events to be dropped at a later point, sometimes years after. But as unusual the last year has been for everyone else, as hard it has struck the very essence of the music industry. The electronic dance music scene particularly exists around festivals and club events, and artists were facing a very unknown situations all of a sudden.
Amalia Kadis reacted very quickly and as soon as public restrictions had been announced, dedicated to the recording studio full time. By summer 2020, the talented songwriter and producer had an impressive selection of finished songs to choose from, resulting in her debut album 'I found you' which was released at just the right time, towards the end of summer. Genre lovers had been craving those long nights at the beach, dancing with friends and lovers. The easy-going, romantic songs were a great compensation, and led to a very successful introduction to the scene.
Kadis, who is known as a 'complete package' artist, is aware of all her strengths and therefor hasn't missed out on strong visuals with her single releases either. Her fan base can't get enough of the Tokyo-based songwriter and producer, and her videos usually go trending within the first minutes after release. Therefor it would be surprising if the official announcement of her follow-up wouldn't come with a single release, accompanied by visuals. Upon request, Kadis management confirmed that the rumours around the second long player are true, but that further details will not be revealed until later.
Summer is around the corner, and we're all hopeful to be able to go out and spend the nights with our loved ones again soon, dancing, partying, having a good time. Whether that will be the case in the next months already, we shall see. But we could definitely do with another Amalia Kadis album as the soundtrack.
