In 14 days, Taylor Swift will join Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Brenaton Thwaites, Odeya Rush, Alexander Skarsgard and Katie Holmes on the silver screen in The Giver. Swift will play Rosemary, Brenaton Thwaites' sister, living in a futuristic world that has no war, no pain, no suffering ... a world of complete and total emotionless bliss where choice is not allowed and life is stripped of everything unique.
This will be Taylor's second movie role, her first being in 2010 when she played Felicia in Valentine's Day. To be such a novice at acting, she knocked it out of the park. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she talked about how she would frequently ask Jeff Bridges if there was anything that she needed to change or do differently and his response was always the same -- "No, that was great!"
To be great playing someone who is the exact opposite of who you are is no easy feat. Rosemary has no emotions - no ups, no downs, no highs or lows. Taylor, as we all know, is an emotional person who feels deeply and translates her feelings into both music and actions. In the sanitized world of The Giver, she would be known as a trouble maker and dealt with severely rather than being awarded and looked up to.
