The big question entering this weekend's OVO Fest in Toronto was whether Chris Brown and Drake would unveil a Rihanna diss within their new material.
Now, we won't get an immediate answer.
TMZ reports that Brown will not make his scheduled appearance on Monday night due to an international travel snag. In other words, the felony assault he picked up against Rihanna in 2009 doesn't mesh with Canada's zero-tolerance policy.
Brown's camp allegedly pulled the plug, which put a damper on an excellent weekend that includes a performance by the reunited Outkast on Sunday night.
As Rap-Up.com noted, Brown and Drake's collabo would've publicly mended some bridges that burned between the two in recent years. The two camps got off on the wrong foot when Drake romantically pursued Rihanna in the wake of Brown's legal troubles, and the relationship hit a low when the men came to physical blows at a nightclub in 2012 before suing each other.
But it's all good now, according to producer Mally Mall.
"They were in Vegas, and that's when we squashed the beef," he told a TMZ cameraman. "I initiated it. We finished it, and wrapped it up."
The West Coast veteran says their truce was genuine.
"It's definitely all love," he said. "I think everybody gets the picture now. You act like a jump off you get treated like one."
Mall also mentioned that Brown and Drake were not, in fact, working on a Rihanna diss, a statement that rapper Tyga recently backed up.
Whatever their intentions, we won't find out on Monday. But the show will go on; Last year, Drake brought out artists such as Kanye West, Diddy, Mas$e and TLC during his OVO performance. Odds are, he'll find a suitable substitute for Brown without much hassle.
