After Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" release was delayed, it was R&B crooner Eric Bellinger who offered up details on what to expect from the track.
He even mentioned that he co-produced the track alongside Polow Da Don and Da Internz but that may not be the way things actually went down.
According to XXL, Minaj recently took to Twitter to throw shade at Bellinger and his supposed involvement with the track.
"There are only 2 producers on #Anaconda ~ Polow Da Don & Da Internz. No one else should be out here doing interviews about it. #ThirstyAss," she tweeted. The tweet has since been deleted.
Bellinger went on Instagram to defend himself assuring his fans that he had not misled them.
During an interview with the magazine, Polow Da Don shed a little light on the situation and he says he's unsure of what, if anything, Bellinger did.
"What he did? I have no idea. I wasn't there for that process," the producer said. "I don't know if he helped her write it. Add some harmonies. I don't know. What they added from a musical standpoint wasn't any musical changes. It was more like add-ons. They flipped it, but it is not like it went to a different direction. I'm not familiar if Eric Bellinger plays keys or something like that. I have no idea."
He went on to describe Bellinger as a "music-hype guy" with good connections.
As previously reported, Bellinger said he was called in to help with the song, which already had its foundation.
"Most people don't look to me as a producer; they look to me as a songwriter," Bellinger said. "I think Da Internz, they trusted my veteran ear. Polow da Don had the idea; [then] brought it to Da Internz; Da Internz called me in, and then we kinda just [were] vibing it out with suggestions and opinions and placements and arranging it. I kinda played a Quincy Jones in the situation, almost. Every step of the way, me and Kosine [of Da Internz] were piggybacking off ideas."
