Remy Ma has been out of prison for a mere two days and she's already releasing new music and doing interviews.
According to Vibe, the former Terror Squad rapper had her first post-prison interview with Funkmaster Flex yesterday (Aug. 2) and she discussed ideas for new music, working with DJ Khaled and possibly signing a new deal.
But most importantly, Remy is happy to be a free woman.
"I'm excited, I'm happy. I'm extremely happy. I'm blessed; God allowed me to get another chance at what I love to do and everyone's been super, uber supportive," she told Flex.
One person who has been especially supportive is DJ Khaled. During the interview, she talked about the possibility of signing with DJ Khaled's We The Best Music.
"I've been talking to Khaled since I was still incarcerated, and he has a lot of great ideas and things he would like to do. I didn't sign with anyone yet," she said. "I don't know where I wanna sign yet. I just know I go so much s**t I wanna say, and so much great songs that I think the world need to hear."
When asked her views on the current state of rap, Remy said females are often pitted against each other.
"What I think happens with females in this game, they tend to allow other people to pit us against each other. I've said this before. They make it seem like there can only be one female," she said. "It can be a thousand guys that's putting out music and rapping and doing what they do but when it comes to females in this hip-hop business, they make it seem like it can only be one, and if there's more than one then, 'Alright, y'all better be at each other's throats every chance that you get.'"
Remy said she would like to eliminate some of that stigma and collaborate with other femcees.
"I think it would really be dope if we could get like a ill chick record with everybody who's doing what they're doing right now. Me, maybe Iggy Azalea, Nicki [Minaj], like just do like a nice little collabo."
What do you think of those third doing a record together? Sound off in the comment section.
