Chris Brown Announces New Release Date For His 'X' Album

The wait is almost over!

Chris Brown has finally announced a new release date for his long-awaited sixth studio album X, according to Vibe.

The "Loyal" crooner took to Instagram to announce the album's release. Brown shared the cover art for the album with the date Sept. 16.

X was originally slated to be released on Brown's 25th birthday after a previous push-back. The release for X was also delayed by the singer's legal woes earlier this year.

The album has been delayed for over a year. In a past interview with Rolling Stone, Brown described his forthcoming album as a more R&B-laden project.

"Making X, I found out who I am," Brown told Rolling Stone last year. "This album has a lot of substance, from the subject matter and the situations to how it deals with love. It's really derived from personal experiences. Then again, I always like mixing reality with art."

As previously reported, Brown has been spotted in the studio with one time foe YMCMB rapper Drake.

West Coast producer Mally Mall said he helped the two squash the beef. He also revealed that he's responsible for getting the two in the studio together.

No word on whether they were cooking up something for this new Sept. 16 release but if so, don't expect a Rihanna diss out of the two.

During a recent interview with Rikki Martinez of L.A.'s Power 106 radio station, Drake's label mate Tyga opened up about the music they have been working on.

"On the phone w/ Tyga earlier. Drake was in studio w/ him & ChrisBrown to be on the next Fan of a Fan project. There's no Rih diss in the works," Martinez tweeted.

And there you have it. Stay tuned for more updates on Chris Brown's forthcoming release.
