The always-interesting Thom Yorke was reportedly in attendance at this weekend's Cornish Festival Leopallooza in England, but it wasn't with Radiohead. The famed frontman ended up playing a surprise DJ set by himself ... for eight people.
Taking place in the backstage area of the festival, Yorke's performance was one the festival organizers chose not to advertise. While one could easily confuse the action as an incredible mistake – given the singer's name, band and position in the industry – "the best house party in a field" prides itself on attempting to give more focus towards the emerging artists. Therefore, Yorke, who has been known to play DJ sets around the globe, didn't quite make the cut ... but he's probably okay with that.
During the festival, one concertgoer spoke of his performance, saying, "He's probably the most influential artist of the past decade and here he is prepping to play to half a dozen drunk hippies." Our guess is it's probably a nice change of pace for the "Creep" singer, though, given the fact that he's been known to get bombarded by press from time to time.
If ony there were video to the set. But don't worry, you can probably get a taste of what it was like by watching the below video for "Lotus Flower" off Radiohead's latest 2011 album The King of Limbs.
Music Times recently reported that Radiohead announced they'll be recording new music this coming September, following a year of taking time off.
