Carlos Marin, a longtime member of the band II Divo, has died after facing serious health issue. He was 53.
II Divo first confirmed Marin's passing through its Twitter account, expressing their heartbreak following their bandmate's untimely death. They also shared a photo of the late musician alongside a short but heartfelt tribute to him.
They wrote, "It is with heavy hearts that we are letting you know that our friend and partner, Carlos Marin, has passed away. He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There wiIl never be another voice or spirit like Carlos."
The band members - Urs Buhler, Sebastien Izambard, and David Miller -- also took their time to acknowledge the 17 years they shared with Marin.
Simon Cowell gave birth to the group in 2003 and signed the four-piece to his label, Syco. As of the writing, Marin and the members of II Divo have already released 10 studio albums and sold over 30 million records.

II Divo's fans were left shocked earlier this month after the band revealed Marin was admitted in a hospital, asking everyone to pray and hope for his speedy recovery. They also postponed their Christmas tour due to a member's "ongoing illness."
Following Marin's hospitalization, they also canceled their December 7 and 8.
Spanish media outlet El Español first reported that the singer was put into an induced coma while intubated inside an Intensive Care Unit at Manchester Royal Center in England. The band did not reveal any details about Marin's status, but Daily Mail confirmed that a Spanish TV program disclosed what happened to the singer.

TVE program Corazon Corazon reportedly divulged that the 53-year-old singer contracted COVID-19 and fell extremely ill despite receiving his complete doses of vaccine.
"But on Tuesday his manager for Europe informed us that as a precaution he had taken the decision to cancel his upcoming concerts and put them back to the summer," his agent said.
His ex-wife, Geraldine Larrosa, was with him throughout his hospital stay despite separating 12 years ago. They got married at Disneyland in California in 2006.
