Over the weekend, Remy Ma spoke with Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex and discussed her ideas for new music now that she is out of prison. One of the projects she wanted to work on was a "chick" record to help eliminate some of the stigma of femcee's being pitted against each other. She mentioned Nicki Minaj as someone she'd like on the record.
In an interview with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning, Minaj responded to Remy Ma's suggestion and elaborated on the recently released collaboration between her and Beyoncé on the "Flawless" remix.
Minaj didn't confirm a collaboration, but she did say that it was a possibility.
"We'll see," she told them. "I'm not closing that off. I feel like we'll get the right thing and we'll do it for the people. It's open up in the air."
As for her Beyoncé collaboration, she said that she had almost given up on ever collaborating with Queen Bey because she felt that if "she was going to ask me, she would have been asked me."
Minaj explained that she recorded the verse in a studio in New York after Beyoncé's management contacted her "a month or two ago" about remixing "Flawless." She said that she and Bey shared time in the studio for the collaboration.
"She stopped by the studio and she was such a sweetheart. She was hyping me up like 'do your thing. Don't hold back. Go in.' I said 'Okay.' We just been waiting for her to drop it. She told me that she would drop it while she was in the middle of the tour. I wrote the verse before she went on tour."
